ABOUT ME
I'm Jayson, a fourth-year student at Grinnell College in Iowa! I plan to graduate in May 2026 with a double major in Computer Science and Anthropology, and a concentration in Digital Studies. I'm originally from Des Moines, IA, and spent last spring studying abroad in Copenhagen​! I'm also a goalkeeper for the Grinnell soccer team and an aspiring insect photographer.
In summer 2024, I completed a research project at Grinnell where I identified communities of interest (COIs) in Iowa at the census block level. I analyzed American Community survey 5-year estimate data using clustering algorithms and GIS software, and presented my results at the 2025 Joint Mathematics Meeting in Seattle, WA. I'm beyond excited to expand my digital humanities experience with my participation in the Mapping Freedom 2025 program!
